Sorry no time to scan the answers to last week’s Roundabout Quiz 3. So here’s a real beauty for you to ogle at in the meantime.
This beauty belongs to my neighbour who loves vintage cars. The car has been restored to original condition. I will try to take some photos of the beautiful interior to show you another time. Meantime let’s see how much you know about this car; starting with the model name. Hint: Its engine is in the rear.

Fiat 500 or 600. I saw black one parked outside a workshop at Eunos Ave 3 a few years ago. I think it belonged to the workshop owner. But the paint was in quite a bad condition, unlike your neighbour's.

Victor, do you think its a Fiat, It does look like one when you look at the front lights, but when I zoom on to the Badge on the front of the car, the badge is shape like a shield, but I cant see any name or initicals on it, I thought fiat had a round badge any way you could be right, Iam not sure but I will put my head on the block, and say its a Fiat.
it's a fiat 500.
Fiat 500. Based on the car # plate prefix of "SU", I reckon date of ROV (now LTA) registration is 1960/61"
The "S_" prefix on number plates came just before "E_" right?
After that, then came "SB_", "SC_", etc.
walau, has it been that long ago?
Pre-ww2 until the early 50s, prefix began with a single "S", then "SA"......"E" series began with just "E" in late 60s/early 1970s then "ED" which I believe to be 1973 or 1974. "EF" is 1977 which was the year I bought my first car.
The oldies are right!
The details can be obtained from this website.
Engine Capacity: 479cc
Original Registration Date: XX XX 1960
COE Expiry Date: XX XX 2010

Sorry, I mean the "Vehicle Transfer Fees" service at onemotoring.
A friend of mine had one of these and we used to play tricks on him by lifting the back end of the car and wheeling it on the front wheels to a different street. The first time we did it he thought somebody had stolen it until we told him we had moved it. After that he would come out of the club where we met and see it had gone and ask where we had put it this time.
In my varsity days, there was this chap who drove a mini and parked it vertically (sidy-by-side) with between 2 other cars. What some blokes did was to lift up this car and rotated it 90 degrees so he could not drive off.
This was a fiat 500 a bit slow, as compared to its speedy cousin the fiat 600. These two models were quite popular in the sixties, notable for its low fuel consumpation and easy maintenance, also favourites for first time car owners. Together with vespa and lambretta scooters, they were famous people's vehicles for frugal post-war Italians who never expected these motor vehicles could be such hot exports to oversea market.
Wow,great the 1st car is Fiat 500,it is smaller than the 600,this unit made before 1965 as it had rear hinged doors or 'suicidedoors',it had type 110air cooled In-line 2 OHV 479cc,later 499.5cc with 1 Weber carbruettor,it was designed by Dante Giacosa.
I like the idea of a wedding car - a vintage car. Not those 1920s or open hood but back to the 1970s era. Even the London taxi type also impress me. Maybe when my son gets married, I recommend this "retro" type car.
My dad had this model which I could only recall from memory cos we don't have a camera back then. Hope you won't mind if I save the image.
