Bus stops quiz

I like to take pictures of bus stops in Singapore. Here are 5 from my collection. Nos. 1, 2, and 3 are fairly common. But how about 4 and 5? Have you seen them before? Do you know where I took them?
No. 6 is a 1970s bus stop at Bukit Timah 7th Mile, near Beauty World. This photo is from the National Archives collection.

I have seen another unique design in Jurong Island. But I dare not stop my car to take a photo for fear of being questioned by the security personnel. If you have such a photo, please share with me. There’s another one at Old Choa Chu Kang Rd that I have seen on Facebook. One of these days, when I am in the area, I will take a photo. Hope I’m not too late.

It is amazing how bus stops have changed over the years.

From post: "There’s another one at Old Choa Chu Kang Rd that I have seen on Facebook."

How does the said bus-stop look like ? I took a photo of one of the bus-stops along Old CCK Rd in July 2014. I think it looks pretty modern & generic ? The reasons why I took the photo though:-

1) The bus-stop might be gone the next time I visit. Afterall, this is S'pore, where most things don't get to stay around for very long.

2) There is nobody at the bus-stop during evening peak-hour. A rarity in present-day S'pore.

3) There are no pedestrian paths near or leading to the bus-stop. On both sides of the bus-stop (beyond the green railings) is an open drain.

Bus-stop (5) is along Woodlands Ave 10, just outside the Blk 22 Woodlands Link building at Woodlands East Industrial Estate: Google Street View.

Where is bus-stop (4) located ? Upper Serangoon ? Bartley ?

no. 4 is at Queensway bet. Holland Rd and Commonwealth Crescent. One on each side of the road.

A few years ago, I used to walk past that Queensway bus-stop 2 or 3 times every week, yet I didn't recognize it ! Perhaps because I walked along the minor road behind & below the bus-stop. Also, 99% of these walk-bys was done at night. Glad the adjoining mango tree is still there ... well, assuming it is still there.

It would be highly unusual if there are only 2 bus-stops of that design throughout the entire S'pore. Queensway isn't exactly a prime tourist district. Moreover, that particular part of Queensway merely consists of nondescript housing, albeit high-class ones whose residents probably don't take buses.

Or perhaps that's the point: Eye-entertainment for drivers who seldom need to stand under any bus-stop. For one thing, bus-stop designs (esp. entire front-elevation views) are likely more prominent from the vantage-point of drivers — as opposed to walking/ waiting bus users who tend to be anxiously watching out for buses & potentially in-crashing traffic ... & thus looking everywhere else, except at the bus-stop itself.

Is there one with the 'concrete' type with iron bars in the back? I remember seeing these when young but i believe most if not all are torn down.

While (3) is the oldest and simplest, somehow I like it the most. With the peeling paint on the seats, the sometimes bent roof, etc.

All of them are okay because at that place what people need is shelter and seat to sit for some time.
