Here
are some 1951~52 photos of cinemas in the town area courtesy of Joe Elliot. Also
cinema tickets from the same period. I have not been to the last 2. A bit too
young. Anyone know where was Chung King?
And
here’s one more from Mike Robbins taken in the mid-1960s.

Chun See, Chung King was the cinema on Metropole site before latter was built in the 50s.
Icemoon's answer is most probably correct. I remember seeing early cantonese movies in this theatre - those rudimentary type - 'real' kicking of butts, sword piercing through the body version but actually it was grabbed under the victim's arm-pit category (in black & white films). My memory tells me that the cinema was located somewhere between south bridge road and tanjong pagar road.
More great photos ... Thanks Joe.
There were cinemas everywhere in Singapore, of all shapes and sizes.
"Attack on the Iron Coast" was a 1967 release.
