More "Strange Fruits" - Chuck Hio

Last week, I brought some clients to the Ponderosa Golf and Country Club in JB and saw something very interesting. It reminded me of Chun See's earlier blog aboutthe Strange Fruits we saw at Braddell Road.

I wonder if there is any relationship between the two cases?

No comments yet? Pathetic. Better to blog about NS.

Okay, I start the ball rolling. I do not agree that those items look like fruits at all.

I sent a couple of the Braddell Road tree photos to seen@newstoday.com.sg. Hope they will publish them and readers can shed some light on this mystery.

\Possible answers:
1. Monkeys have been rummaging trashcans la.
2. Asshole drivers of golf carts keep knocking them over.
3. Club security system disguised.
4. Rainfall measuring system.
5. They don't just make you golf, they make you play basketball too. shoot some hoops boys.

Great JB.

Haha, this is what I call 'thinking out of the bucket'. You must be working for the gahmen.

Shute man! I dunno about you, but the garmen employees I have had to deal have never shown this quality called think out of the box. In fact, some of the look so lifeless you'd think they were ...eer, boxes.

Fighting fit, I am quite surprised that you have such a distorted impression of gahmen employees. You obviously haven't met Chris and yours truly.

Hello Fighting Fit. Alamak, how could you generalise? And what "think out of the box?" Say some more the civil serpents will "box" you then you know ah! Victor Koo will do the honour FIRST.

But truth be told, what you expressed is not entirely untrue. I've seen it with my own eyes in my office environment. But let's not blame it on the Civil Service. What do you expect when the gahmen shelter us all like kids? This applies to ALL Singaporeas and not just the civil serpents ok? It's a population notion - we are good at mugging exams, but lack creativity in the real world. That much I can say.

I still cannot understand how a post about "strange fruits" can become one discussing about civil serpents' work attitudes.

And mystery still not solved.

Sorli sorli, you all misunderstood me again. I said "those I have had to deal with..." so I didn't think I was really painting with a broad stroke and swiping all garmen ociffers.
I have met the occasional smart ones, who have initiative -- pleasant surprises.

Chris Sim said...

Now, YOU are saying we LACK initiative? What are you trying to insinuate, Fighting Fit? Come lah, one on one. See who's the fitter! $£"%&&%>@.

Ooi Victor!!??? Dont' just sit there, say something!

LOL.

Chris, come on lah. Even the Pope was forgiven when he apologised for saying something wrong. Fighting fight has the grace to do that. Can't you just move on? Or is that the 34% evil in you that's doing its job?

Thank you for that victor. After all, we were all from that famous school just off Jalan Besar, aren't we?

The mouth is a dangerous organ - why ? It is because if we eat wrongly, we get sick, or if speak (or write) wrongly we shall be in trouble. So eating carefully and speaking correctly should be our 'kiasu' way of life

Tell that to Dr. M, who said publicly he's got a very big mouth, and some of his contemporaries. :-)

There is a saying that those who live by the sword also die by the sword. It is also very possible that politicians who survive by the 'mouths' may also suffer defeats by their 'mouths'

Oh Fighting fit, so you were from Victoria Secondary School too. 真的是不打不相似. I must be about 10 years your senior. I was in Pre-U 2 in 1974. How about you?

Anonymous said...

8 yrs senior. (hats off)
but those were the years, weren't they?

Victor said...

Oh really? That means you are exactly of the same age as Chris.

Chris - that's reason enough for you to make friends with Fighting Fight. For all you know, the two of you might have been primary schoolmates or even in the same army platoon before.

there was a Chris i knew back then. brilliant athletic chap.
he looks at women daily now. gets paid to do it too. :-)

The Chris you knew is now a gynaecologist? The Chris I know also looks at women daily now except that he doesn't get paid to do it. LOL.
